Head teacher Welcome

"St. John’s is the best place because it is like one big family.’"

Ruby ,Year 6

"We are so proud to be apart of the St John's Family, the staff go above and beyond to support the children to meet their learning goals. The curriculum is taught in a way the children can really engage and enjoy their learning. In our personal experience, as parents, we feel that the class teachers have been amazing in helping us support our children at home too, sending out useful resources and advise via email. You all do an amazing job. Keep up the great work."

The Staff and Governors at St. John’s would like to join me in extending a warm welcome to you. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community.

It is a privilege to lead St. John’s and serve local families and children. I have been the Head teacher here for over twelve years now and continue to see wonderful teaching and learning taking place, in a warm and welcoming environment.

St. John’s is a two form entry school.  We have our Early Years and Key Stage 1 children on our Daisy Bank site on Daisy Bank Avenue and our Key Stage 2 children on our Park Lane site.  We continue to strive to be a small, church school, that knows all of our families and children. This is very important to us and leads to success for our children, both socially and academically.

Starting school is always a big step forward for the child and their parents. These are special times and I will work hard, along with my fantastic staff team, to ensure that your child feels happy and valued in our environment and that they make good academic progress, enabling them to fulfil their potential.

If, after visiting our website, you still have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. We openly encourage regular communication with parents, and welcome support from parents in a range of ways. We look forward to working with you in the best interests of your child.

With warmest wishes,

Mrs. S Rubin
