This week in Year 4 we have been carrying out some field work and exploring our local area. We have looked at what parts of our local area make us happy and which parts make us sad or angry. We have been discussing why there was more litter around the streets than in Light Oaks Park and we think this is because there are more bins in the park than in the rest of our local area. Well done Year 4!
This week we have been focusing on forming our numbers and letters correctly. It’s really important that the children start at the right place and they move their pencil in the right direction. We have been practising how to hold our pencils correctly too. Keep up this excellent effort Year 1, we are so proud of your progress so far!
Year 3 are having music lessons with Mr Lane. We have been using Samba drums to make music.
In our topic lessons we are studying the island of St. Lucia. Today we looked at the features of the houses there and got a good understanding of their different styles and features. From this, we created our own piece of writing that showcased the positive features of living there.
Nursery have had a busy second week in school. We welcomed new friends and enjoyed playing with them. We have also started dough disco everyday. We enjoy squeezing and rolling the playdough. Well done Nursery!
