This week Year 4 have been exploring the Puja tray and listened to Bhajans within our RE lesson. We looked at each individual item on the tray and discussed why it was on there and why it was an important part of worship. Some of us even smelled the incense sticks, we definitely weren’t keen on the smell.
Well done Year 4!
Reception have been exploring the work of Piet Mondrian. We looked at the his painting and discovered his use of cubism and that he was famous for only using the primary colours in his work. We created our own paintings based on this technique.
This week Year 1 have hosted their breakfast with books sessions this week and it’s been such a success! It was lovely to see so many parents enjoying reading with their child and sharing a love of books. There was a great buzz about reading around the classrooms!
This week, year 2 have been focusing on position and direction. To learn about turns, we enjoyed an outdoor lesson in which we practiced rotating clockwise and anti-clockwise making one quarter, half, three quarter and full turns.
Year 3 have been learning about perimeter. They began by measuring objects around the classroom using metre sticks and rulers, then moved onto making shapes on a peg board and calculating the perimeter.
Year 6 have been having a great time looking at sculpture. This week, they used charcoal to create their own still life images.
Last week Nursery learnt about minibeasts and their habitats. We then went on a bug hunt. We looked under tyres and in the mud and found lots of slugs, snails and worms.
