This week in art, year 3 have continued to handle and manipulate clay. We have controlled the material to achieve a desired effect. We experimented with different tools to create different patterns.
Year 5 have been enjoying their geography topic about coasts. They learnt about coastal erosion which is the process where the sea slowly "eats away" at the land, wearing down cliffs, beaches, and rocks.
Year 1 have been observing wild plants and garden plants in Science. We enjoyed using an app to identify different trees and plants. We then planted our own wild plants and are going to keep a plant diary of the changes over the next few weeks.
Year 5 have been really enjoying ERIC time (everybody reading in class). They are enjoying a variety of texts and have even been doing a book swap!
This week we have been learning about ‘one more’. We have used our one more robot, created one more staircases and played the bus stop game outside. Our bus travelled around the outside area and ‘one more’ child got on each time we stopped. We used the sentence stem ‘one more than… is…..’. Well done Reception!
This week Nursery started learning about our artist, Henri Matisse. We enjoyed looking at his work and we then attempted to make our own by cutting out shapes with coloured paper and making a collage design. Well done Nursery!
Today we have started looking at the artist Paul Priestley and have developed our previous skills adding chalk to charcoal to create different tones. We have used the process of blending to smoothly create shade to create depth.
This week in Computing we have been looking at ‘Can you edit it?’
In the lesson we looked at how to change the font size, style and colour on an invitation.
