This week, Year 6 have been perfecting their Pop Art skills. We discussed the types of colours we would need to create the vibrant art work and the need for the designs to be eye-catching. We are so impressed with how they turned out.
This week year 3 took part in a druhm workshop. We learnt 4 different rhythmic patterns and put them to music. We had an absolute ball.
Reception have had a fabulous day taking care of the different animals from the farm. The day has been amazing!
This past week, Year 5 were given the chance to visit Eccles Mosque. This visit was linked to our learning in R.E. about Muslims in Britain. Year 5 got to see their names in Arabic, learnt about The Five Pillars of Islam, heard a demonstration of the traditional call to prayer and had an opportunity to take part in Rak’ah which are the movements of prayer in Islam. Both classes behaved impeccably and showed great respect and showed a great desire to explore the concepts of Islam. The staff at the Mosque were amazed at the children’s understanding.
Year 4 have worked hard beginning to design their lights for our reflection areas. They’ve explored and made different types of electrical circuits and switches, they even made their own. Well done Year 4 we can’t wait to see the finished lights.
Nursery have been working so hard on their writing. They were challenged to write a shopping list for Mrs Simons ready for our smoothie’s on Friday.
Year 1 have been trying really hard with their handwriting this week. Our focus has been ensuring we are starting in the right place and our pencil moving on the right direction. As a special treat for their fantastic efforts this week, we have all enjoyed an ice lolly and chill out this afternoon. Well done Year 1, you’re definitely showing Year 2 ready!
Yesterday year 3 had the most incredible trip to the Grosvenor Museum in Chester. We took part in a Roman day. We started the day with a Roman workshop looking at why the Romans came to Britain. We had the chance to explore artefacts and become detectives for the session. We also took part in a Roman soldier tour. We carried shields through Chester City centre to the amphitheater for formation training. The whole of the city knew we were there with our amazing chanting. Brilliant day had by all.
