This week Year 4 have carried on with their crime and punishment topic. They’ve been learning all about punishments in the Victorian era and the invention of the policeman.
Well done Year 4
We have designed and made some fabulously tasty fruit kebabs in Design & Technology.
Year 6 have been exploring the rainforest. They researched the different layers and then created their own information text using what they had found out.
Year 1Pr have been very busy designing, making and evaluating free standing structures.
Year 2 were Scientists this week exploring the relationship between distance and volume. They used decibel readers to identify the changes to a sound the further away they moved from it. They then experimented with the equipment trying to find the quietest and loudest sound around the classroom.
Year 3 were creating posters for Year 1 on how to keep your bodies healthy.
Yesterday Year 4 visited the Greater Manchester police museum as part of our topic on Crime and Punishment through the ages. We learned so much about how policing has changed over the years and why police men were called ‘Bobbies’ or ‘Peelers’. The children were able to explore the prison cells and handle some of the old policing equipment dating back to 1800s. We also acted out a court case about Cyber bullying. We found the defendant guilty of the crime. Well done Year 4, your behaviour throughout the whole day was amazing.
Reception have been exploring the four seasons. We looked at what happens during each season and how they change. We discussed the different weathers and how the environment changes. The children created independent art work to show the changes.
Nursery have been hard at work learning all about Italy. Today, they helped make 4 pizzas with different toppings on them. After they were cooked, the children had the opportunity to taste their creations.
