This week Year 4 have been researching the local artist Harold Riley and experimenting with some of the techniques that he used. We have experimented with watercolours and tested a variety of different techniques to be able to add to our paintings. We have begun to sketch a landscape focusing on perspective which will add watercolours to later in the week. Well done Year 4, fabulous artwork.
Mrs Pemberton’s club have loved going on their Frozen 2 adventure in after school club. They have been storytelling through active play.
This week in provision we are focusing on mixing colours to make a different colour. We enjoyed getting our hands messy!
We have been looking at the artist, Edvard Munch and discussing the impressionistic way his art can show emotions and feelings. We initially looked at free form movement, using string to convey the different emotions before we moved onto free form, continuous pencil drawing and looking at colours that reflect mood.
We will then be creating our own version of The Scream using these skills
Nursery took part in breakfast with books last week. We enjoyed sharing books with our families and our friends.

This week, year 3 became artists in the style of Pablo Picasso. We experimented with charcoal to create a still life drawing.
This week, Year 5 created their own Roman numerals from straws and challenged their partner to guess the number. They then changed the game and one person gave a number and the other person had to create the number in Roman numerals.
