  • Year 3 are times tables experts

    Fri 10 Jan 2025

    This week year 3 have been practising their 4s and 8s times tables by drawing arrays, using the Abacus and counters to explore multiplication and division fact families. 

  • Year 5 are geographers!

    Fri 10 Jan 2025 Mr Bawden

    This week, Year 5 started their geography topic comparing California to the North-West England. They began by learning about different climate zones and understanding how a location’s position relative to the equator affects the climate it has. The next lesson, Year 5 began understanding where North-West England and California are located in regards to their hemisphere, continent and country. A great start to this topic!

  • Nursery are ARTISTS

    This week we challenged Nursery to think about what they wanted to paint before painting. They needed to think about the colours they wanted to use and the shapes they would need to make. They created fantastic paintings. Well done Nursery. 

  • Year 2 are Chefs.

    Thu 09 Jan 2025 Mr Smith and Miss Richardson

    This week as part of their Design and Technology project, Year 2 have been chefs and made vegetable tartlets. Using an array of different vegetables including; courgette, tomato’s, spinach, mushroom, sweetcorn and then passata and pesto sauces, children designed, made and evaluated their tartlets. It was so lovely to see children willing to try lots of new food that they hadn’t tasted before. I’m sure you’ll agree they all turned out AMAZING!

  • Year 4 are Storytellers

    Wed 08 Jan 2025 Mrs Phelan and Mrs Halpin-Power

    Year 4 have made a fabulous start to this term and the new year by being amazing story tellers. They have started their new English story cycle on ‘The eagle who thought he was a chicken’. They have created super story maps, carried out their stepping and speaking and interviewed the Eagle at the top of the mountain. Well done year 4! 

  • Year 6 are geographers

    Mon 06 Jan 2025 Miss Hardman and Mrs Elliott

    Today we started our Geography topic on whether Manchester should be the next capital city of England. We talked about the capital cities of the UK we knew and found them in the atlases. We then matched a range of maps to the correct city together with their famous landmarks. 

  • Year 3 are performers

    Year 3 have loved showing their talents off on the instruments at their 3 year music performance this Friday. They have worked so hard with Mr Lane during Autumn term and they put on a great show.
