The first group of Nursery children have enjoyed their first week in school. They have had lots of fun exploring their new classroom and making new friends. Well done Nursery!
Year 2 have impressed us in maths this week with their knowledge of place value. They have been working hard to partition 2-digit numbers into tens and ones and have been using lots of practical resources to support their learning.
Today we have been making our masks based on the artist, Kimmy Cantrell. We have been developing our sculpting skills and have based our clay work on our designs from earlier in the week. We have been working on our understanding to sculpt, model and construct.
Our masks look amazing and we can’t wait to paint them next week.
The children have learnt how to draw cartoons. They did an amazing job!
This week Nursery have been practising their phonics skills with an egg and spoon race. They had to look at the letter on the ball and identify the phoneme sound. They then had to carefully carry it on their spoon and find the box with the matching picture on it. Well done Nursery!
Year 3 have been mini master chefs today! We have been putting our new skills to the test following our design brief to produce our very own pitta pockets. We were lucky enough to miss the rain and take our creations to the park to enjoy this afternoon, we even had a play on the park too!
What fillings would you have on your pitta pocket?
This week in maths, we have been focusing on mass. To measure mass, we made chocolate brownies! We worked out the amount of grams we needed for each ingredient, weighed them out and then mixed them together to make our brownie. Delicious!
