Year 3 are Mathematicians…

Year 2 are storytellers…
Thu 11 Sep 2025This week we have introduced our new storytelling text to the children. On Monday, the children were told the title of the story, The Fox’s Sack and made predictions about what they thought the story will be about. Here are there amazing predictions! As well as focussing on their prediction skills, we had a big focus on using capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and re-reading their own writing to check it made sense!
In Maths, we have recapped our previous learning of writing numbers up to 20 in words. The children tried really hard with this task and were ready to move onto writing numbers up to 100 in words the next lesson.

Year 4 are explorers!
Wed 10 Sep 2025Year 4 went on a field trip around the surrounding area of our school to investigate land use. We looked at the different types of buildings and considered why these buildings were built.

Year 5 are readers
Wed 10 Sep 2025Year 5 enjoyed reading with their parents/carers this afternoon. They enjoyed some lovely stories. They are really impressing me with their determination to “strive for five”!

Wed 10 Sep 2025This week Reception have been exploring their families. They have drawn pictures of who is in their family, made pebbles families or used the play dough to build their family.

Nursery are mark makers!
Mon 08 Sep 2025Nursery are exploring making marks this week. We are trying hard to copy patterns in glitter and with crayons and paint as well. Well done Nursery!

Year 4 are story tellers!
Fri 05 Sep 2025Year 4 have had an amazing start to the school year. We are so proud of them all! We have started our English lessons with the story ‘Woman Of The Sea’. Will she ever return?

Year 5 are mathematicians!
Fri 05 Sep 2025Year 5 have been working super hard this week and are already engaging brilliantly in their maths topic impressing us with their knowledge of the place value of digits!

Year 6 are Amazing!
Fri 05 Sep 2025Year 6 have made an amazing start to the new year. They have shown fantastic attitudes towards their learning and all the staff have been so impressed with them! We have started our Geography topic on St Lucia where the children really impressed us with their questioning skills.

Fri 05 Sep 2025We are thrilled with how well our Year 2’s have settled into the new school year! They have demonstrated excellent phonics skills and made lovely shields to represent the groups they are part of outside school.
