  • Year 2 are Passionate about Poetry…

    Wed 01 Oct 2025

To celebrate national poetry week, Year 2 have been listening to a poem call ‘From a Railway Carriage’ by Robert Louis Stevenson. Before the children heard the poem, they were told the title and we discussed their predictions about what the poem could be about.

We have created story maps to help us retell the poem on Tuesday then our learning moved onto imagining we are in the rain way carriage. The children thought of and shared so many wonderful, creative ideas - we can’t wait to use these in our descriptive piece of writing!
