We have been learning about parts of the blood and the functions they perform. The children used cheerios and sweets to represent red blood cells, marshmallows to represent white blood cells and raisins to represent platelets. We had a great time and learned a lot about how important our blood is.
Nursery have been learning to talk about their families and this week we are trying to create our families out of pebbles. Well done Nursery!
During computing lessons, Year 4 have been looking at how the World Wide Web works. Today, we looked at different company websites and found out who owned the content.
Year 1 have produced some amazing writing related to our poem, ‘Life doesn’t frighten me at all’
This week Year 3 have started their science topic ‘light’. We have carried out our first investigation ‘Can we see without light?’
To celebrate national poetry week, Year 2 have been listening to a poem call ‘From a Railway Carriage’ by Robert Louis Stevenson. Before the children heard the poem, they were told the title and we discussed their predictions about what the poem could be about.
We have created story maps to help us retell the poem on Tuesday then our learning moved onto imagining we are in the rain way carriage. The children thought of and shared so many wonderful, creative ideas - we can’t wait to use these in our descriptive piece of writing!
