This week, Year 4 have been exploring different water colour painting techniques. We are developing our skills ready for our final piece.
5P had a fantastic Belong, Believe, Achieve workshop this morning this morning and were lucky enough to be joined by some parents. We performed a song then took part in a round robin of activities such as geography, no outsiders and English.
Nursery had so much fun reading with our grown ups this morning. Everyone enjoyed sharing stories with friends and talking about books.
Year 6 have been working really hard on their French skills this half-term. We have been learning the names for our relations and are using this to build our own family trees.
This week Reception is learning all about healthy eating. Today we sorted healthy and unhealthy foods and talked about how food gives us energy. We decided that healthy food helps us run fast and grow strong, while unhealthy food makes our tummy and teeth hurt. Later this week we will be creating our own menus for a healthy food cafe!
We have seen some fabulous independent writing in Year 1 this week. The children have used some amazing adjectives.
This week in maths year 2 have made a fantastic start of using the resources to start learning how to count in 3’s.
Our science learning focussed on materials and discussing why certain materials are most suitable for certain objects.
Year 4 have started their new art topic. We have been looking at the artist Harold Riley and how he used perspective. We were able to use a step by step guide to help us create a final piece.
This week Year 3 have been investigating how shadows can change. We discussed the vocabulary opaque, translucent and transparent and how materials with these properties affect shadows. We also explored if shadows stay the same all day. 🔦
Year 5 have been working hard on Roman Numerals in maths this week and understanding the rules they follow!
