Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week Nursery have been learning about Remembrance Day. We have been making poppies out of loose parts and we have enjoyed printing poppies with bottle tops. Well done Nursery!
Today, Year 6 finished their French family trees. We worked really hard on our vocabulary and we are really pleased with how they turned out.
This week, Year 6 have been focussing on the work of Georgina Luck. We used watercolour to help us create sweet wrappers in her style. We think they look amazing!
Year 4 have been busy this week investigating lengths. We have looked at equivalent measurements for length and time. On Monday, we measured a range of items from the classroom using cms and metres.
This week Year 3 have been exploring the enquiry question ‘Who is Alan Turning and why is he so important?’
We looked at different sources and created a ‘hypothesis’ about who he was and why he was significant.
We explored Alan Turings life and took part in a ‘Let’s say’ where we went back in time to a place where Alan worked.
Year 5 have been exploring tone, colour and texture. We used watercolours to explore.
This week we have started our Art topic. We have focussed on different shading techniques and colouring mixing. After the holidays, we will continue with Art and work on our sketching skills.
Year 1 have been discussing how we are respectful and tolerant of others. We played a game - we all had different coloured card and had to stay with the children with the same coloured card. We discussed whether it was right to just stay with our colours. We decided that it didn't matter which colour card we had, we should all be respectful of each other and shared our thoughts with a friend who had a different coloured card.
This week, we started our new art topic. We reviewed the work of Banksy, Georgina Luck and Francoise Nielly. We had a great time critiquing their work.
