  • Year 1 are Scientists…

    This afternoon year 1 were working scientifically by going on a nature hunt to look for land invertebrates. They were observing closely using magnifying glasses. Back in the classroom they drew, named and labelled some of the animals they found.

    To celebrate and reflect on our learning in History, we visited the National Football Museum; we had a fantastic time and was even able to share our knowledge with our tour guide.
     

     

  • Year 6 are gymnasts

    This half-term, we have been creating our own stunt routine to the Mission Impossible theme tune. We have needed to include rolls, jumps, balances and mirroring. We are really excited to perform these in the next couple of weeks. 

  • Nursery are Firefighters

    Last week Nursery enjoyed learning about the job that firefighters do. We then enjoyed playing with the firefighter small world with our friends. We also enjoyed pretending to be firefighters outside. 

  • Year 2 are photographers

    In computing, year 2 have been learning about what makes a good photograph. They have really enjoyed exploring landscape, portrait, different lighting and the framing of objects within photographs.

  • Year 3 are mathematicians

    This week Year 3 have been working extremely hard in their Maths. They have been working on arrays and using an array to solve a multiplication calculation. They used different resources to create the arrays and solve the calculations. 

  • Year 4 are Linguists

    This week in their French lessons with Madame Hey, Year 4 have started to learn about Christmas traditions in France and how they are similar or different to the traditions they have themselves at home. Today they found out that a huge Christmas feast is eaten on Christmas Eve rather than on Christmas Day. Très bien Year 4!

    This term we are learning all about how Christmas is celebrated around the world. We looked at nativity scenes from around the world and their similarities and differences. Afterwards, we thought about which was the most and least important parts of the nativity scene to us and why.

     

  • Year 6 are scientists

    Mon 20 Nov 2023 Miss Hardman and Mr Jones

    This week, we started our new Science topic on evolution and inheritance. We started our lesson with a game of Guess Who to illustrate the difference between environmental and inherited characteristics.
