This afternoon Year 4 have been exploring some non-fiction authors.
4P were looking at Flight by Mya-Rose Craig whilst 4PW were looking at Day and Night by Lela Nargi.
We learned about the author in more detail and carried out some creative activities surround the book.
Well done Year 4 and carry on being reading superstars!
We had a fabulous morning showing our families what we have been learning in school.
This week Year 3 have become botanists whichever are people who study plants. We begun by coming into a crime scene where a plant had been dissected and we had to identify the different parts. We then investigated what the function of the roots is.
It was lovely to share our fantastic learning on Tuesday morning with our parents. We took part in a carousel of different activities including Phonics, Geography and Maths tasks! Great work everyone!
Reception are learning all about King Charles III. We have really enjoyed learning about his family, what his job includes and even finding the missing underpants (from our class text). We can't wait for our garden party at the end of the week.
Year 6 celebrated finishing their SATs in style! We decorated biscuits, visited the park and even had McDonalds!
Last week Nursery enjoyed visiting St John's Church. We learnt about special events that happen in the church and we enjoyed finding significant items in the church.
This week Year 2 are Sculptors and have been creating clay tiles and adding sculptures of the natural world (flowers, mountains, volcanoes, waves and beaches). They have been inspired by multi-media artist Gwen Lafleur and have used an assortment of natural resources and a variety of techniques such as platting, coiling, embedding and pinching.
This week Year 4 have been sculptors. The children have used clay to create sculptures in the style of Kimmy Cantrell. They have learned how to use the score and slip method to ensure that their features stick to the base and don’t fall off. Well done Year 4, we can’t wait to see them once they are painted.
