This half term Year 6 are building and designing their latest contraptions and amazing inventions. We started by studying an explanation text about a hot air balloon. We then used our stepping skills to non-verbally convey each part of the explanation text. Later this week we will then be designing our own rocket/submarine then writing our own explanation text about his wonderful invention
Nursery had a fun first day back. We enjoyed exploring the sticky gloop with our hands. We also enjoyed practising using the tweezers to pick up the spooky pasta and we enjoyed making spiders in the playdough. Well done Nursery!
Year 1 and Year 2 had a brilliant day out at Chester Zoo on Thursday. Luckily, the sun came out just as we arrived and that meant many of the animals came out to play too! We saw so many amazing animals, the children had a great time. We were so proud of their behaviour, listening skills and manners and with how well they coped with all of the walking! They represented our school brilliantly. It really was a day to remember! 🙂
During the last week of this half term Year 5 have been focusing on our art topic. The children got to explore and investigate tone, colour and texture techniques using paints.
Year 2 have had a fantastic time on their trip to Chester Zoo. They saw so many animals such as lions, giraffes and even managed to see a tiger. What a lovely day!
This week in Maths Year 3 have been looking at addition. We have explored different ways to do this using base 10 and column addition.
We had a lovely time at our pre-school storytelling session this afternoon. Our next session is on Tuesday 9th January at 2pm.
This week Year 4 have been researching the local artist Harold Riley and experimenting with some of the techniques that he used. We have experimented with watercolours and tested a variety of different techniques to be able to add to our paintings. We have begun to sketch a landscape focusing on perspective which will add watercolours to later in the week. Well done Year 4, fabulous artwork.
Mrs Pemberton’s club have loved going on their Frozen 2 adventure in after school club. They have been storytelling through active play.
This week in provision we are focusing on mixing colours to make a different colour. We enjoyed getting our hands messy!
