    Year 2 have been practicing weaving techniques using a range of materials to make a placemat. Our next step is to design patterns to incorporate into our weaving.

    This week we started our Art topic, based on printing, textiles and collage. We created poly-block prints inspired by the work of Michael Craig Martin and Elizabeth St Hilaire.

    It was national storytelling week this week and year 1 enjoyed creating a new story character based on a member of their family and their personal characteristics. There were so many super ideas, well done Year 1.

    Last week we had the opportunity to meet (virtually) the great author, Steven Camden…

     

    The project kickstarted with a live interactive story building event with Steven Camden. Our follow-up work in class allowed the children to create their own story world inspired by Steven's own creative process.

     

    We had so much fun designing our characters and developing them further.

    This week, we started our Art topic. We used carbon paper to create prints based on the work of Michael Craig Martin. 
     

     

  • Year 4 are mathematicians

    This week Year 4 have begun their fractions topic in maths, we have begun to look at equivalent fractions to a half, a quarter and a third. The children used the cuisenaire rods to help them create their fraction walls to find out what fractions are the equivalent. Well done Year 4 super mathematical investigations this week!
