Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
This week, we designed and made our own monster hand puppets in DT. We stitched felt to join it together before adding our decoration.
Year 3 have been geographers this week and have begin exploring our ‘Rivers’ topic by learning about the water cycle. We began by talking about what we think it is and then learnt about the importance of the water cycle and the four main parts. Can your child remember how the cycle works?
This week we have started our new geography topic. We are going to be learning about the human and physical features of Blackpool. To start our topic, we have focussed on applying our prior learning on compass skills to find Blackpool in an atlas and where other places are in relation to it. The children have really impressed us with their work and enthusiasm for geography.
Year 4 have been designing moving monsters that will help younger children learn their number bonds to 10. This week they have finished making their moving monsters using pneumatics. They have created a pneumatic system using syringes and a tube to make the mouth open and close. We are looking forward to taking them to the children in Reception to try out. I’m sure you’ll agree they look fantastic!
