This week have Nursery have been looking at sequencing real events. We looked at how to make a jam sandwich. The children sequenced the instructions and then made their own Jam sandwich. The best bit was when we got to eat our sandwich.
This week, Year 5 have been learning all about angles and have been practising measuring angles using protractors.
Year 6 have been working on their art skills this week. We drew our own city scapes and used a range of materials to complete them. Some of us chose to use fine liners, watercolours and pencil crayon to complete our pictures. We are so happy with them!
Yesterday Year 1 went to church to perform at the monthly afternoon tea for the parishioners. They wowed everyone with their amazing singing and dancing - we are so proud of them! The children made cards to spread joy and we wrote some of the lyrics on doves for the church to hang onto their tree.
This week Year 1 has been building their fraction knowledge by identifying halves and wholes from a given number. After a few days of practical hands on halving, the children put their skills to the test answering challenging reasoning questions in their books.
Year 4 have been finishing off their sculptures based on the work of Kimmy Cantrell. We created our pieces using clay and then painted using watercolours.
Well done Year 4 they look fantastic!
This week Y3 have designed and made their own clay pinch pots 🤏. We used different techniques like rolling and pinching to create our pinch pot shape. We then used different tools to create the design. What will you use your pinch pot for?
This week in RE, Year 2 went to court. They took on the roles of people from the ‘The Good Samaritan’ tale.
They debated whether each person was in the right or the wrong for their actions in the tale as the witnesses defended and explained their decisions. The class discussed the values each person showed before they voted as to whether they thought their actions were good or bad.
Year 6 have worked so hard all week and have done so incredibly well with their SATs. We celebrated today with a trip to the park and McDonalds on the field. We are so proud of them!
This week, Year 3 have started their art topic. We will be using clay to make pinch pots. Today we got to handle clay to explore how we could change its shape. We used our hands to mould the clay and then used tools to create patterns to give a desired texture. Wait until next week to see what amazing sculptors we are!
Year 4 have been exploring 2D shapes this week, looking at their angles and identifying whether they are acute, 90 degrees or obtuse. They’ve been sorting shapes and explaining their answers. Well done, Year 4!
