Year 4 have started their new science topic on animals including humans. We have started by looking at teeth and how different substances affect them. We have begun a science experiment where we have placed eggs in cola, vinegar, milk and water. We will observe changes over the week. We have also looked at the different teeth different animals have.
Well done Year 4.
This week to finish our Geography topic on Ecuador and FairTrade we went to Aldi to find out which brands they sell that are FairTrade. We found that while Aldi don’t carry many brands that are FairTrade they do have their own Rainforest Alliance agreement. We had a great time and all children enjoyed investigating the different types of products.

This week Year 2 have been Geographers. They have been comparing the cities of Salford (Manchester) and Nairobi (Kenya) and noting any similarities and differences between them. Children researched each city using IPads, non-fiction texts and atlases and compiled fact sheets about each city based on location, climate, wildlife and features. They have gone on to produce a weather report comparing the two cities and will move on to looking at population.
