Year 3 are Scientists
Fri 14 Mar 2025This week in year 3 has been Science week, we have been exploring the materials that coins are made from to decide if they are magnetic and using magnets to test our theory.

Year 1 are Scientists…
Fri 14 Mar 2025This week has been British Science Week and Year 1 have been emerged in our science learning.
They had a very special visitor called Nurse Rachael, who told them all about her very interesting career as a nurse. The children asked lots of brilliant questions and learnt so much. It was very inspiring.
Year 1 also conducted experiment about suitable and non suitable materials that can be flushed down the toilet. They used bottles of water and tested whether materials broke down.
This afternoon we have shared all our brilliant science learning with Daisy Bank in a special celebration assembly.

Year 2 are Mathematicians
Fri 14 Mar 2025This week year 2 have been learning about shape. They have done some brilliant work identifying sides and vertices but they have particularly impressed us with their work on symmetry. We used a range of methods to find lines of symmetry on different shapes including placing mirrors and folding.

Nursery are Readers!
Mon 10 Mar 2025Nursery had the best time sharing stories during World Book Day. They loved listening to their adults reading a story as well as reading with Year 4.

Year 6 are CAMs creators
Mon 10 Mar 2025Year 6 have been busy creating their CAMs toys. They thought really carefully about their design, selected the CAM they wanted to use and sawed the dowels so they fit perfectly. We are really happy with the final results!

Year 2 are Readers
Thu 06 Mar 2025Year 2 have been Readers this week as part of World Book Day. Children have spent the day researching their author Joseph Coelho and created an author journal about him. They have then read his new poetry book and his new novel and shared what they enjoyed in some book talk. During the day, Year 5 have come over and Year 2 have had some reading for pleasure with the older children outside. In the afternoon, they have created their own character cards about their favourite character from a text and then compared these with their friends to see who was the top. We have ended the day with snuggle up and read with parents coming in for children to share their favourite books and have a story.

Year 1 are Readers…
Thu 06 Mar 2025It’s been a busy couple of days and the children have been loving their reading!
Our slumber party was a real success on Wednesday and the children loved our book called Billy’s Bucket by Kes Gray.
We learnt about the author Nadia Shireen on World Book Day and the children enjoyed listening to her stories and drawing in her illustrative style.

Year 3 are Belonging, Believing and Achieving
Wed 05 Mar 2025This week year 3 have had their Belong, Believe and Achieve workshop. They have thoroughly enjoyed showing parents their money skills in maths, how many bones in the human body they can name from our Science lessons, finding the names of countries that support FairTrade and they also showcased their amazing work on the glockenspiels from music.

Year 4 are Historians
Wed 05 Mar 2025This week Year 4 have been exploring ancient Egypt. We have looked how mummies were made and what the Pharaohs took with them into the afterlife. We’ve learned all about Howard Carter and his famous discovery.

Reception met some new arrivals!
Tue 04 Mar 2025Reception have been amazing at caring for our new arrivals in Reception this week. They were so happy when 10 chicks hatched from their eggs. They loved being able to stroke them for the first time!
