• Nursery are Geographers

  Last week Nursery learnt about cold countries. We looked at Antarctica. We looked at where it is on a map and what the weather is like there and how it is different to England. We also investigated the animals that live there. 

  

• Year 2 are well-being superstars

  This week, we had an exciting well-being workshop from Talk, Listen, Change all about positive and negative feelings and how we can change negative feelings into positive feelings by using a three step approach of 1. Stop and breathe 2. Catch the feeling 3. Turn the feeling around by choosing a thumbs up choice.

  

• Year 3 are Geographers

  Year 3 have become Geographers this week exploring Ecuador. We begun by researching some facts about Ecuador and learning which continent you would find it in, the ocean which surrounds it and what you would find there. We are now becoming presenters and going to be creating our own VLOGs. 
   

  

• Year 4 are Musicians

  Last week Year 4 started their drumming sessions with the music service. The children were exploring the different types of drums and the sounds they make. They then began to create a rhythm with their instrument. They started to learn how to play We will rock you. The music teacher was amazed. Well done Year 4, keep it up!

  

• Reception are artists!

  This week we have been creating our own pieces of art. We needed to think about what we wanted to paint, the shapes we needed to create and the colours to use. 

   

   

  

• Nursery are Mathematicians!

  Last week Nursery started to investigate patterns. We learnt new vocabulary to describe the patterns that we could see such as spotty, stripy and pointy. We enjoyed printing patterns in the creative area and we enjoyed matching animal patterns outside. Well done Nursery!

  

• Year 6 are creature designers

  In year 6 we are writing a set of instructions based around the story of Pog.

   

  Today we looked at creating our own creatures where we looked at its weaknesses, described how we would defeat it and labelled all of its features. We had loads of fun designing our hideous creatures and can’t wait to start writing our fantastic instructions.

• Year 3 are mathematicians

  This week we have been learning about how to divide a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. We used our place value counters and place value table to support us with solving the calculations.
