Year 3 are having music lessons with Mr Lane. We have been using Samba drums to make music.
In our topic lessons we are studying the island of St. Lucia. Today we looked at the features of the houses there and got a good understanding of their different styles and features. From this, we created our own piece of writing that showcased the positive features of living there.
Nursery have had a busy second week in school. We welcomed new friends and enjoyed playing with them. We have also started dough disco everyday. We enjoy squeezing and rolling the playdough. Well done Nursery!
This week, year 2 have been working extremely hard to act out different parts of the story ‘The Fox’s Sack’. To deepen their understanding of the story, they wrote some amazing 3, 4, 3, 4 poems!
This week Year 4 have been exploring the story ‘The woman of the Sea’. They have acted out the story and made their own songs. They’ve also explored the different senses when thinking about the story. Well done year 4!
We are all so proud of our new Reception class.
They have settled in to their new classroom beautifully and it is lovely to see new friendships blossoming!
We have shown great skills during our Geography lesson. We were able to recognise local landmarks and find them on a map.
This week in Geography Year 3 have been developing our map skills. We used an atlas to find the different countries in the U.K. and the capital cities so that we could mark them on our own maps.
Year 1 have really impressed us with their maths work so far. They have been ordering numbers, using tens and ones to make numbers to 20, sorting objects and matching pictorial representations to numbers. Well done Year 1!
What a fabulous start to the term! Year 5 have impressed us so much with their positive attitudes and resilience with new learning. They have shown they are more than ready to tackle any challenges in Year 5.
